Our Consultation Doesn’t Cost More Than A Lesson
Problem solving begins with a consultation. Based on your input and our observations of your dog’s behaviors, we formulate a high-level action plan and assess your dog’s temperament, both of which we share with you in person. Afterwards, on our time (not yours), we break things down into detailed lesson plans so that we stay in-line with your goals. Just like structural engineers and architects, we provide professional analysis in the consultation but also look to make our bones actually doing the job. Consultations are 1 hour maximum, $180.
Hands-On Private Lessons
We meet with you and your canine pal once a week for 1 hour. Training is typically done in your home, with field trips also possible to expose your dog to real life situations, or to address behaviors that are location-specific. You will be actively participating, but we will also demonstrate technique with your dog and get a feel for how s/he is responding. Skilled Mutts does not provide templatized homework. One size does not fit all. We highlight exactly where attention is needed so that you and your pup can practice meaningfully together.
“I don’t think anyone in this world could help my dog Hana more than Andrea. Hana was a rescue dog who went through four years of hell. Hana would try to attack any other dog she would see even from blocks away. She tore the door panels off my old car trying to get to other dogs. We were at the end of our rope. We tried a different training program first and it was a joke and they still kept our money. After lessons with Andrea, Hana can turn right around from other dogs without major drama. She gave Hana a life back and one that we can live with.

“I was totally impressed when Andrea trained a neighbor’s yipping, yapping dog to be quiet and not be agitated at every sound. She did this by training through the other side of the fence, and without having to work with the dog directly. Totally qualified and I do recommend.” – Gary S.
